Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Remindio (“the App”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use the Remindio apps for Android and iOS and the website remindio-app.com.
In short: Remindio has no accounts and no servers of its own. Your reminders, notes, attachments and settings are stored on your device. We use a few Google services to understand app usage, fix crashes, show ads (Android only) and process purchases (Android only). We do not sell your personal data.
1. Who we are
Remindio is developed and published by Dmytro Palamarchuk, an individual developer based in Ukraine, who is the data controller for the information described in this policy. You can reach us at dmytro.palamarchuck@gmail.com.
2. Data stored on your device
Everything you create in Remindio is stored locally on your device and is not sent to us:
- Reminder titles, times, repeat rules, pre-reminders, labels, checklists and settings;
- Attachments you add (notes, links, contacts, pictures);
- Location points and Bluetooth devices you choose as reminder triggers (Android);
- Statistics, coins, levels and achievements.
This data stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App. We cannot see, access or recover it.
Backups (Android)
You can optionally create a backup of your data:
- Local backup: saved as a file on your device or in a location you choose.
- Google Drive backup: uploaded to your own Google Drive after you sign in with Google and grant access. The App only accesses the files it creates. Your backups are subject to Google's Privacy Policy, and we have no access to them.
You decide when to create, restore and delete backups.
3. Device permissions
Remindio asks only for the permissions needed for the features you use. Each permission is optional, and you can revoke it at any time in your device settings. Only the related feature will stop working.
| Permission | Why it's used | Platform |
|---|---|---|
| Notifications | To show your reminders | Android, iOS |
| Alarms & reminders, full-screen notifications | To fire reminders at the exact time and show full-screen alarms | Android, iOS (alarms) |
| Location, including background location | To trigger location-based reminders when you arrive at or leave a place, even when the App is closed. Location is processed on the device only, never sent to us, and not used for ads. | Android |
| Nearby devices / Bluetooth | To trigger reminders when a chosen Bluetooth device connects or disconnects. Device names stay on your device. | Android |
| Microphone / speech recognition | For voice input of reminder text. Audio is processed by your device's speech recognition service (e.g. Google) and is not stored or received by us. | Android |
| Contacts, photos and files | Only when you attach a contact or picture to a reminder, or choose a backup location. Only the items you pick are used, and they stay on your device. | Android |
4. Third-party services
The App uses the following services provided by Google. They may collect information automatically, as described below and in their own privacy policies.
| Service | Data collected | Purpose | Platform |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics for Firebase | App interactions (e.g. screens opened, features used), app instance ID, device model, OS version, app version, language, approximate country/region | Understanding how the App is used in order to improve it | Android, iOS |
| Firebase Crashlytics | Crash reports and stack traces, device state at the time of the crash, installation identifier, device model, OS and app version | Finding and fixing bugs and crashes | Android, iOS |
| Google AdMob | Advertising ID, IP address, device information, ad interactions | Showing ads in the free version; measuring ad performance; fraud prevention | Android only |
| Google Play Billing | Purchase status and order information. Payment details are handled entirely by Google, and we never see your card or payment data. | Processing and restoring Premium purchases | Android only |
| Google Drive / Google Sign-In | Your Google account identifier and the backup files the App creates | Optional cloud backup and restore, only when you use it | Android only |
Ads and consent. Where required by law (e.g. in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), we ask for your consent before ads are personalized, using Google's consent tools. You can change your choice at any time in the App settings. Without consent, only non-personalized ads are shown.
The iOS app currently contains no ads and no in-app purchases. It does not use location or cloud backup and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
5. How we use information
We use the limited information described above to:
- provide the App's features, including reminders, alarms, triggers and backups;
- diagnose crashes and improve stability and performance;
- understand which features are used so we can improve them;
- show ads in the free Android version and process Premium purchases;
- respond to your support requests.
Where the GDPR applies, our legal bases are: performance of a contract (providing the App and purchases), legitimate interests (crash reporting, analytics and security), and consent (personalized ads and optional permissions such as location). You can withdraw consent at any time.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it except with the service providers listed above or when required by law, for example to comply with a valid legal request or to protect the rights and safety of users.
International transfers
The Google services above may process data on servers outside your country, including in the United States. Google provides appropriate safeguards for such transfers, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
6. Data retention
- Data on your device: kept until you delete it or uninstall the App.
- Analytics data: kept according to our Google Analytics retention settings (no longer than 14 months), then deleted automatically.
- Crash reports: kept by Crashlytics for up to 90 days.
- Advertising and purchase data: kept by Google according to its own policies.
- Support emails: kept only as long as needed to help you, then deleted.
7. Your choices and rights
- Permissions: grant or revoke them at any time in your device settings.
- Ad personalization (Android): change your consent in the App settings, reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings → Google → Ads.
- Delete your data: delete reminders in the App or uninstall it to remove all local data. Delete backups from your device or Google Drive.
- Analytics and crash data: email us to request access to or deletion of data linked to your app installation.
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU/UK, or the CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email below. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Children's privacy
Remindio is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
Your reminders stay on your device and are protected by your device's security features. Data sent to the third-party services above is transmitted over encrypted connections. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
10. This website
remindio-app.com does not use cookies, analytics or advertising. When you visit, our hosting provider may log technical data such as your IP address and browser type for security and operation. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address in order to deliver them.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App changes, for example when new features come to iOS. We will post the new version on this page and update the effective date. Significant changes will also be announced in the App.
12. Contact
